State Street

This garden is defined by an amazing Dawn redwood tree, that while framing the garden still allows much sun to penetrate. In the sunny spots we placed tufts of grasses and clusters of tall wildflowers in shades of dusty lavender and blue.

The garden was designed to evoke a country garden, provide area for entertaining and provide cut flowers for a variety of seasonal flower arrangements. The stone patio and sitting wall were completely rebuilt and reconfigured to provide areas for sitting and openings for views and an old and beautiful lilac shrub was fitted with a custom iron brace to keep it arching gracefully above the entry stair to the garden. Path and area lighting were added to complement the plants and allow for evening entertaining.
